Why don't moderate Muslims stop radical Muslims???

Question

If I knew people were killing other people in the name of my religion I would be the the first one there to oppose them...Now I don't want any haten going on I just want a decent conversation and answers here....

Id like to hear from Muslims

Alot of it is fear. The middle east still has dictators that will kill anybody who opposes their beliefs. Alot of the governments over there are harbors for radical muslims and there sick and dimented views. Hezbollah and Al Qeada are two of the biggest ones. Iran isn't helping matters much either. As for the Bush bashers just stop. You guys have no idea of what you are talking about. In Iraq, there are moderate muslims who give information to the coalition forces on known locations of the enemy. The moderate muslims are slowly fighting back but it will take a long time to recover from the 3 decades of having a tyrannt as a leader. If everybody did their research like I have done, they just might see that the Bush Administration as done much more good than what left wing liberals are giving him credit for. Oh wait, the liberals aren't giving any credit to Bush or the republicans. The liberals are the same ones who call pro lifers criminals. They also call us sexist, racist, gay bashers, and other names like that because we refuse to cater to liberals who want to change the U.S. Constitution to reflect the views and opinions of the rest of the world. They want the conservatives to be supportive of abortion and homosexuality because a lot of good can come out of it. B.S. The constitution was written by people who had strong values that I still believe in today.

Why can't moderate Republicans stop extremist republicans?

There are alway gong to be people who take a good idea and distort it by going to the extreme. But how do you stop them.

They recruit people on a one by one basis, they play on their ideals to twist their own vision to make it seem like they are not the ones who are taking the ideas to the extreme.

Unless you are on the inside you generally have no idea when, where and how they are going to strike. This makes it difficult even for those who feel like you to even attempt to stop them.

What I see the need for is more Moderate Muslims speaking out against the atrocities being done in the name of their religion. Until recently moderate Muslims have done nothing to even vocally oppose what has been being done, this is starting to change, but not nearly fast enough.

Radicals are useful. While they can bring you unwanted attention and noteriety, they also put preasure on your enemies and rivals. You can even assume, as a moderate, a spokesman or 'negotiator' role, getting what you want by brokering a compromise between the radicals on either side of you. Sometimes it even works.

You don't see Republicans stopping gay-bashers or Democrats stopping Code Pink or even Greens stopping PETA. Same reason. You need the crazy, loud, violent extremists in your camp to make accomodating /you/ look like a good alternative.

For one, most moderates aren't armed....

They are very slowly beginning to do just that....It was one thing when they were killing American troops, but more Muslims die in each attack now than Americans, as one might figure, this is not sitting well, and eventually, they will take up arms and protect themselves....

We need to start stepping back and allowing this to happen, and once it takes hold, move our butts out of their way....

Because they're either afraid of the radical Muslims or they agree with them. It's why the Democrats in congress won't separate themselves from Moveon.org, they're either afraid of them or they actually agree with them.
