My family is wanting to take an RV trip and I need to know!

I live in a RV fulltime and have internet access most of the time. I purchased an air card from T-Mobile for $100 and for $30 per month I have unlimited internet access when ever I have a signal. That is most of the time, even while traveling down the highway.

Other wireless services offer highspeed access for a higher rate, I chose T-Mobile even though it's dial-up speed. I find enough WiFi Hot Spots for big down loads.

Last year we traveled to Alaska from Brooksville, FL and had service everywhere except Canada. Once we got into Alaska proper we had service around Fairbanks, Anchorage, Valdez, Skagway, Juneau, Seward and Tok.

The aircard also supports WiFi and many states now offer that, for free, at rest stops. KOA campgrounds has WiFi for a charge. Chick-fila has free WiFi. Panera Bread also offers free WiFi. Many RVer's use Flying "J" Truck Stops for fueling and even spending the night in the parking lot. Flying "J" has WiFi for a fee, usually $4 per 24 hour period.

Most upscale campgrounds offer free WiFi and the average campgrounds offer it for a modest charge. At the South East Area FMCA rally in February, 2008 free WiFi will be offered for the first time.

Happy camping and travel safe

As you travel in an Rv, look for places to stop that have WiFi advertised as a perc. You can park nearby and get internet access if you have a wireless card in your laptop. Should work beautifully.
