Nop, lol , sry to contradict the guy before me but you cannot obtain 12.8 Ghz.
2.93 Ghz overclocked to 3.2 Ghz ( which is not healthy ) will still not be equivalent to 12.8 Ghz in a Quad Core.
Quad means four. Quad does not mean x 4 . There would be 4 very strong processors capable of handling ALOT of information at once, but that number is incorrect. 12.8Ghz is not obtainable right now by a quad core.

Hey! why not go for 50GHz instead? 12.8 GHz will just give you a mild skin burn when sitting at 5 ft from your PC
Seriously dud the highest overcloked processor I have seen was a Pentium D 905! Running at 4.2GHz. Sorry

The Q6600 can overclock to 3.6Ghz.
http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/display/core2quad-q6600_5.html
BUT that does not mean it is running at 4x3.6Ghz. Just look at the charts comparing it with a dual core E6850.
The analogy would be having 4 cars that could do 100mph each. You can try all the tricks combined but you will never get something running at 400mph. But you can do a LOT MORE with 4 cars at the SAME TIME rather than having to WAIT for Dad or Mom to borrow either of their cars because you have a date.

All you people overclocking your processors should just get ahold of the latest UFO and steal thier computer. I bet that would be fast.
What are you trying to do, be the fastest on your block so you can brag? Thats all I can see you doing. Theres no reason to get computers going so fast. Because once you go that fast, you'll think you can squeeze out another gig. Until it burns your house down.

Get a Q6600. Its 2.4Ghz x 4 and a lot cheaper.
I overclocked mine to a little over 3Ghz, with a liquid cooled machine, I have seen it can go up to 3.3Ghz.

yes, there are overclocked quad cores out there. the highest default speed is 2.93ghz, so you have to overclock it to get it to go faster. but these cost a pretty penny.
