We are in the middle of being approved for new insurance, and wont be approved for a month, and my son needs his 2 month shots next Wednesday, so were going to pay out of pocket for them... how much do they normally cost for all of them? I know there is a total of 6 shots and our Ped. charges $140 for just walking into the dr. office....

I would go to your local health dept. and get them done there. I believe they are free there. At least where I live they are.

Honestly I have no clue how much that would cost you. What I would do is call your Ped's office and explain the situation. They may have a way of getting around the lapse in insurance coverage to get either your old or new insurance to go ahead and pay for it. Or, if your baby is healthy enough, the doctor may just have you wait a few weeks for those shots. Shots do happen late sometimes, generally its not that big of a deal.

You don't need to do all 6.. you can actually space them out and do 3 now then 3 in a month. You can also wait to have the vaccinations done all together until you get insurance.. depending on how long it's going to take. If it's only a month or so, then I would wait. Paying out of pocket is ridiculous... try to wait if you can.

I told my ped. that my son was in the process of getting new insurance and they gave me the shots anyways. When and if you receive a bill for the shots you can ask for an appeal form from your insurance so they can pay for them.

I would go to your local health clinic. Usually best prices and care has been as good or better than doctor's office, in my experience.

Wait until the new insurance kicks in.
