A man could have the best and finest tool there is and still not be able to function correctly with it. He needs to know how to handle his tool well, know how it feels in his hand, and be acquainted with his tool just like it was a part of him. Then can he do a good job using his tool.
While on the other hand ( ahem so to say) the man with the less best tool may be able to perform his actions with graceful skill and ease. He is the professional with his tool. When he has his tool in hand it comes naturally, nimbly and doesn't have awkward jerking movements that the apprentice uses.
Oh mY!

There truth in it. I'm a cnc engineer, and some of my machines are over 20 yrs old, yet i can make just as goo work on them as i can on my more modern cnc's. So i think it still has alot to do with the person using the tools. If he ain't got the know how then he ain't got no chance regardless of his tools.

a good workman will always keep his tools in good condition,no matter what age or quality of the tools are ,it makes his life easier;
I'm still using tools I bought when I started my apprenticeship in 1961 as an electrician also I agree with D above

In a big diy shop they used to sell a tilers starting kit.Less than a fiver.Always wanted to get one and turn up for work with it.Wanted to see who would let me in.....if any.Seen plenty in last 20 years.Nothing wrong with cheap tools,if you know how to do it,not that I have cheap tools.Better value tools do make the job easier.

It's the truth. While good tools help someone do better and more efficient work, one must do good work with what they have to earn the brass to buy better tools. It's called re-investment.
