I swear i'm not smoking anything and I'm not insane, but you know when you are hungry and your stomach makes noises, when your baby is kicking and running a muck in your stomach, does he/she make noises? I'm 24 weeks and by myself. Just a curious question. Make fun of me all you want... I probably deserve it... lol Besides this questions is for laughs anyway.

I'm not hearing things b/c I haven't done enough yoga to be able to put my ear to my belly... lol

Also, I'm not talking about the baby using vocal cords, I'm just talking about him moving around in there.

Yes, but not verbal noises. They can hum and make about as much noise as you could if you were submerged under water, but they are not used to using their lungs or vocal cords yet, so they probably don't make much sound at all. Sound waves can vibrate in the fluid, just not as clearly as in air.

Interesting! I am not sure. I think that when baby kicks they can probably help to move gas around in your intestines and that may make noise. More specifically a farting or burping sound. LOL! Maybe a gurgle or a growl as well. Hee hee.

Such a funny question. I can't wait to see what everyone else answers. LOL.

As far as we know, babies don't make noises in utero (inside you). To make vocal noises, you need air to pass through the larynx. Inside you, there is no air in baby's lungs so he can't make noise. But he sure can move as if dancing, boxing or doing summersaults...especially when you are quiet or trying to sleep. He really isn't more active at that time; you are just less active and quiet.

I really don't know. However, the fetus can hear sounds outside the womb. He or she hears mother's voice before birth, and other voices and sounds. But I don't know if it works both ways. Have someone put an ear to your abdomen -- honest, I'm not being facetious -- and if he or she hears anything, let us know. Good luck!

I am 23 weeks. I don't hear anything, but I have a two year old and don't get much quiet to notice things like that.
Interesting...

Sorry, its a sweet thought. Babies cant make noises. Its not physically posible. You need air to make your vocal cords work.
The baby does cause kinks in your intestinal tract. maybe it was just "gurg-a-ling".

You might hear amniotic fluid sloshing around if your baby is very active and you have supersonic hearing. Other than that, it is probably just those regular belly sounds you are hearing.

Do you hear noises from the baby? I have never heard of unborn babies making noise, but that they can hear you.

No, in order to verbalize you have to have air.

You're probably just hearing digestive noises.
