I am going on a vacation on 11/21 and my last period started on 10/19, I went to the doctor today and she said it's already too late to take the contraceptive pills (I've never taken them before).
I heard there's Norethisterone to delay period, but I guess they are only sold in the UK and I will need a prescription in order to buy them.
Can Norethindrone also delay period? What about the Provera oral pills(not the shot, not depo provera)? Do I need prescription to get them? How are Norethindrone and Provera different from Norethisterone? How do they work?

Are there any other pills that I could take to delay period for a week? I'd really want to enjoy my vacation without worrying about my period going on!

Provera induces a period in about ten days if I read about it right.

Sorry but it sounds like you can't stop it.

Just carry some tampons and midol and enjoy your vacation.

I appears that you don't have enough time in order to get the effect that you are looking for. Although norethindrone is an estrogen containing hormone drug, some myths may have you believe that you could to take a fairly high does in order to trick your body to delay your period, which is not worth the health risk. Keep in mind to delay your period using a typical 28 day oral contraceptive, you have to be on it for some time.

Excessive exercising can delay your period, but this method is not a sure shot.

There is really no safe way to delay your period at this point; there will be other vacations to enjoy :)

Getting the shot is a bad theory. : It made me no longer get my era the full time i became on it. It rather messes issues up for you. i could think of roughly switching delivery controls. Did you have intercourse till now 2 weeks after first getting the shot? if so, you may desire to be pregnant, yet I pretty doubt it.

your period can stop for many many reasons believe me i know
stress can stop your period
if u lose weight real fast or gain it fast it stops your period
not getting normal sleep
insomnia
changing medicines
it all unbalances your hormones

but they balance back to normal after awhile it depends on your body everyone is different
