If you want to actually learn something interesting and impress your classmates, do a report on Col. Chamberlain of the 20th Maine. He was a professor that joined the Union because he believed strongly in a unified nation, and was directly responsible for stopping the Confederate charge at Gettysburg. Information on him is readily available, as he has been profiled in countless books.

General Stuart of the Confederate Calvary could also be a fun report. Had he actually been doing his job and scouting the Union position, rather than trying to make a name for himself in the Richmond papers, the confederacy would have had multiple advantages at Gettysburg (there is a theory that the CSA wouldn't have even fought the battle, but rather entrenched and cut the Union off from Washington). On the first day of the battle, Stuarts Calvary could have actually captured the high ground and forced a union retreat before the full battle even began.

first one is for a list of generals at the battle, second one is a description of the whole battle from June 30th to July 3 with pictures and plenty of description of the fighting on those three historic days which became the tide for the Union.

Try general Pickett. As in Pickett's charge. His frontal attack at Gettysburg cost 9000 men there lives. It marked the beginning of the end for the confederacy.

Start with a general article to collect names of people involved like this one

Then do research on the individual people, especially if you don't recognise who went on to do something later or was famous before. And of course, Lincoln showed up to give one of the most famous speeches in history, that we don't "little note nor long remember"

I suggest that the first thing you do is learn to spell Gettysburg and famous and then go to the library.
