He puts up tremendous numbers... when healthy. We are paying this guy 6mil/year.... should we trade him and pick up another more dependable winger? I mean look at it... the boys are doing good without him.

Why do you think the Sens traded him to Chicago in the first
place,because he is always injured.They got Smolinski and a bag of pucks and were happy to get his *** out of town.The sens just put that 6 million that they could have given to Marty to real hockey player like Heatley,Fisher and Spezza.

if he gets hurt again his trade value will be nil.
they can let him out of the contract if he does, and try to get someone half as good to fill.
he is really good, yet really brittle.

idk... i dont think you can get anything that great for him with all his injury problems. keep him for the young guys. a young team alone can't do it all. the tigers of 06 proved that along with the penguins of last year. havlat brings a veteran prescense along with khabi.
