How do I set the time so it's not an hour ahead because of daylight savings time on a toshiba VCR?

Go in to settings and turn of DST. I had the same problem with my Panasonic DVD Recorder

yes turn off daylight savings time in the set-up menu
choose manual set instead of automatic.
