Eating meat is NOT offensive.
I do like that BBQ thing. Years ago I went to the world BBQ championships in Texas. The winning team were from East Sussex!!!!!
They cooked whole lamb on stakes that were grouped around a huge bonfire. The lamb was cut in such a way as to let the juices concertina through the meat into a collecting tray at the bottom and then spooned over the meat for five hours.
Serving was done by placing the whole lamb on a wooden table and taking a chopper to it and handing us punters a huge chunk of the most beautifully charcoaled lamb you will ever ever see, in a piece of greaseproof paper. Then you got a hunk of torn bread and an ice cold Boston Steam Beer.
This was exactly 32 years ago...I can taste it now.

I hate to eat anything with my hands that's messy, so I prefer to eat meat of any kind with a knife and fork unless it's like buffalo wings or ribs, at which point you don't really have a choice.

If it is in the pick-it-up category (like a frenched-baby lambchop) I always pick it up by hand. Anything that needs cutting (like a steak or a piece of turkey) I go full knife and fork and never put a finger on it.

Depends on what type of meat. If its a steak, I use a knife or fork. But if its a burger, chicken leg, ribs, or chicken wings I use my hands.

This question is closer to the bone than any meat you've probably eaten.. ☺
DR BAD
The bit about tearing of the meat with your teeth is worrying though..

I like to grab hold of the meat with my hands and then rip at it like a lion without the roar.
