I have to give a debate against a person with an opposing viewpoint. I want a topic that is easy to research, has two sides that can both be researched, and is not very common! (not like abortion or euthanasia!!)

As a Canadian, one issue that has always concerned me was whether or not there was any way we can repair our relations with the American people, and whether or not we should repair those relations. There are plenty of Canadians with anti-American opinions. I will assume that you are American, so think of a country that you believe has the worst relations with you (Iraq, Vietnam, France, etc) and debate about possibilities of repairing relations, and should you as American citizens even try.

How about the possible benefits of buying from locally owned business as opposed to corporate businesses? You could talk about how each impacts the economy and local communities, etc.

We had a debate at school about GPS systems. Are they good or bad. Good: They help u find where u are. Bad: Invasion of privacy. This was only one of the many topics we talked about. Hope I helped!!

maybe the war in iraq and whether or not the soldier should come home its controversial and easy to research.
