Why do some people close their questions so quickly?
Maybe the real Best Answer is still out there in the mind of someone who can't sit at his/her computer all day every day?

If I feel like a I have a good answer and it already closed (after the bare minimum amount of time), I will leave a comment, even though hardly few people ever check. :)

What are you trying to say? Some are on the computer all day? LOL
I close them when the four hours are up. But I just closed a question that I didn't really get any good answers for. Can I *offer* to *ask* the question again, so that you can respond?

Most of mine remain open for several days....I usually extend them and I often let them run for almost the whole week....I do try not to let them go to voting these days, though, unless I really can't decide on a best answer.

I wait 'til I see the orange "check for best answer" posted on my Q. Ususally about 3 days after they are posted.

I usually keep mines open for about 2 days or so.

I usually leave them until they expire, unless it's something really simple that gets answered quickly.

Whenever one of my questions stops getting responses, that's when I vote on it and give best answer. I don't like leaving stagnant questions around.
