Would you find it inappropriate if your wife's dentists partner...(in practice) spoke to her re: his personnel life and on another occasion (to you both) told a "story" of how a patient locked lips w/ him? Please keep in mind that he also gave her a hug. Would you feel that this man was/is feeling out your spouse? Or would you think it is nothing? Would you tell her not to be a patient...and why does this man have the notion he may do so? Any advice is great. My wife and I have been married only a couple yrs. and I am wanting to handle this right.

It is inappropriate. There is such a thing as Hipa laws that prohibits doctors and practices from discussing any work related stories, names and details with other patients. This guy has no bedside manners so to speak, has no integrity as a dentist or as a man. Who can say that he doesn't tell that story to other patients making your wife to be the one who kissed him?
Find another one, he is not worth it.
