Salt makes you thirsty, but that's bad for your blood pressure.
Keep a bottle of COLD water with you, and just take big sips every now and then. Especially if you spend 2-3 hours watching TV at night.
You shouldn't feel bloated either. You should be peeing a lot. They're only 8oz bottles, right? You can buy some flavored water. Just make sure it's cold. Good luck, hon. :)

You DO know that "a glass" is only an 8-oz cup, right??

It's not THAT much water... and depending on where you're at, water from the tap can have a different flavor than other places. My g/f doesn't really like drinking "plain" water - so she buys these flavor packets from Crystal Light to add to 'em.

Incidently - there's no real truth in the rumor that you NEED 8 - 10 glasses of water each day to stay hydrated. (See link below)

8 glasses a day is a lot, and this amount is just a general guide for like a standard 70kg male. It makes sense that if you are female and are smaller than this then your water intake does not need to be so high. I'm very tiny myself and I get by quite happily on less than a litre a day.
Pretty much what I've learned is that if you are thirsty then drink, if you're not then your body is telling you it doesn't need it.
And a suggestion for making water taste better, perhaps make some sugarfree cordial, or squeeze some juice into it. You also get part of your daily fluid intake from food, like apples, too.

Getting enough water during each day is important for the human body. It keeps your sytems running smoothly. There are different ways to get the amount of water you need each day. Of course drinking water is a big one, but you also get water by eating foods that contain a lot of water - soup, fruits, slushies, etc.
If you think water is gross, it may be the kind of water you are drinking. Is it tap water that contains a lot of additives? Try distilled water. If you tire of the plain-ness of regular water, there are no-calorie mixes you can add for more flavor. Watch out for those that contain sugar - adding more calories is not the best choice.
If you are feeling bloated, try increasing the amount of water you drink on a daily basis in a gradual manner rather than all at once. This will give your body a chance to adapt.

I totally agree with you! I had a tough time with it when I was pregnant. My suggestion would be to get a container that holds 64 ozs. Some of the bottled water people have them that big. Keep the bottle with you and keep telling yourself that you only have to drink one bottle as opposed to 8 glasses. It helps. Space out your drinking. For instance, when I was playing free games on Yahoo, after a while they only give you 5 minutes. Then you have to start all over again to get the game back on. I would take a decent drink each time it happened and was pretty surprised at how empty the bottle got during that time. As for the taste, you will get used to it. I didn't like it either, but I've gotten used to it. I even had to get used to the taste of prune juice of all things. It took about 2 years, but I've done it. If you can get used to that, you can get used to anything! lol Good luck!

That's eight 8 ounce glasses. Eight, 1 cups of water.

If you're not use to drinking that much you might want to take it slow. Eventually you're body will crave that much water. Also, it's ok to "eliminate" it. If you pee a lot, that's fine.

If you drink 3 gallons of water in a day, you can thin your blood out so much that you can get water intoxication. It's equal to the result of drowning in fresh water.

So, what's healthy is 8-12 eight ounce glasses a day. That's 64-96 ounces a day. It might be helpful to purchase a sport water bottle like this: http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2607672&cp=712946&sr=1&origkw=bottle&kw=bottle&parentPage=search&searchId=22237196664
This one is 1 liter which is about 34 ounces which means you would need to refill it 2-3 times a day, sipping it as the day goes.

The simplest way to drink the recommended 8 glasses of water a day is to drink 4 when you get out of bed every morning before you have your morning shower and then you only have to drink another 4 later on in the day.

Are you a kid? If so, stick to 6.

And don't chug your water :P That's probably why you feel that way. Start off your day with a glass of water, go for a run and have a glass, bike and have a glass, have a glass when you eat (breakfast, lunch, dinner). That's already six. :P

If you just sit there and drink water, it's not healthy. You need to do things, move around and drink.

Try drinking flavored water. It tastes a lot better. You could squeeze a wedge of lemon in it.I think 8 glasses is a lot also.If you are feeling bloated at 5 glasses I would stop there.Maybe 5 is enough for you.Alot of people can't drink 8 whole glasses of water a day..I think you are doing great getting 5 down.

You don't have to rush drinking the water so quickly and one after the other. Just drink a cup of water during all your meals and snacks. Remember that is the recommended amount of water if your at 6 glasses and full then you should be good especially if you combine other drinks besides water.
