is this true?

Prisons are mean, tough places. Whenever someone new enters a cellblock or ward they are immediately confronted by one of the prison warlords or gang leaders. This is done so that there are no illusions as to who holds authority inside. If it is a new inmate coming into the area, rent will be extracted. Rent is the fee an individual must pay in order to stay protected. This can be anything from paying a cigarette a day to the gang leader, making beds, cleaning up, running errors or becoming a homosexual pet to someone or a crew. Usually, at one point or another an inmate will affiliate with one group or another. The alternative is to fight, always having to watch your back.

That may be true to a certain extent of high-security State prisons with hardened criminals in them.

County jails, and low or medium security prisons are a much less dangerous environment. I'd note that my own experience of incarceration is limited to a night in a Brazilian drunk tank after skinny-dipping while on shore leave - and even the breakfast was pretty good there :-)

I visit clients in county all the time. It's not a fun place by any stretch of the imagination, but t's not "Papillon" either.

Somebody has been watching OZ re-runs.
State prisons are nasty places and vary widely, but commonly the inmates run the asylum in some manner except if it's one of the new supermaxes.
If you are a really pretty nancy-boy, then you will certainly be assaulted repeatedly on a daily basis by any number of large men. You will be passed around for candy bars and be forced to do the most despicably disgusting things imaginable, then do some you can't even imagine. The officers won't help you or care, in fact they may join in.
You can expect to have all of your teeth knocked out so that you'll be able to "perform" better.
You should probably prepare yourself by watching a lot of gay porn and start stretching your "area" so that it isn't torn to shreds.
Pick the biggest meanest lifer of your own race and be his girlfriend. Better to service 1 guy than the whole yard.
Just bite the pillow and try not to like it.

Well make up your mind how old you are and what sex you are. Less than a hour ago you were only 17, then you suddenly turned 21, and the other day you were going to the doctors because your boobs are turning yellow.

Maybe you do belong in an institution of some kind.

I am pleased to report that conditions are completely different in jails in UK. Since that idiotic 'Human Rights' Bill was enacted, prisoners can complain of, and prevent any, mistreatment by staff or fellow inmates (of course, you occasionally have to pay someone to burn the room of someone who robbed you).
Those inmates with outside money can easily bribe any number of warders or convicts to serve them. (Paint their room, do their laundry, etc. Drugs are cheap inside (if you like them) and are a unit of currency. Prostitutes (apart from the female staff) can be brought in pretending to be lawyers.
All fine and dandy and completely disgraceful.

NEVER and trust me at my age I don't think that I will have the chance to mess up to end up in jail.

That is antother world and is too far and always been too far away from me.

At some point I had put people in jail yes...I love justice so.

I keep out of trouble..I don't look for trouble...And I don't make trouble.
