Lower taxes, hawk on defense and national security, and his religion puts him solidly enough on the right that I can overlook his choices on abortion and gay marriage. Security is my number one issue for America. We are at war, no matter how badly the Dems and the media want us to overlook that fact.
Also, he will not socialize health care like Hillary or raise taxes.

Good question. I don't trust Rudy. I think he is too much of a politician. By that I mean that he will do and say what he thinks will promote his own popularity and keep him in power. He will compromise standards and values if that is the way the political winds are blowing. His experience is sketchy, being mayor of N.Y. may not be enough experience to run the country. His personal life hasn't been all that good. In other words, how can you run a country when you can't even run your own life? He is more liberal than I would like to see. If I can say one good thing about him, it would be that I would rather see him as mayor of S.F. than Gavin Newsome. That may not be a very good endorcement but it is a step in the right direction.

I'm Gay and a retired soldier and a staunch Republican. The Christian Taliban wing of the Republican party are such an embarrassment. I like the Republicans because they defend the Republic and aren't a bunch of communists like the Democrats.
Although I'd vote for Giuliani over any Democrat in the general election, John McCain has my vote in the primary.
By the way, why shouldn't I be able to marry the man I love?
I defended this country along with lots of other gay and lesbian service members and veterans, doesn't that count?

Giuliani is more liberal than senator Clinton. Rudy G. was on the demo ticket until former president Reagan took office. Rudy just billed him self a republican & went on that ruse. Most dems/repubies are in all reality just REPUBLOCRATIC clones of one another & are notorious for playing the good guy/bad guy routine in misleading an increasingly gullible American public. There are exceptions to the rule such as representative Ron Paul & Joe Lieberman. Representative Paul is in all reality a constitutional Libertarian standing on the repub ticket. Joe Lieberman is a former demo(now independent!) affiliate that leans some what to the right on issues. BOTH are known as quality people regarding their honesty & integrity. Sadly, these are the "few" truly honest folks we have left on the federal level that still remain reputable.

Socially he is far more liberal than the social conservatives would want. From a government action standpoint though he is conservative and therefore attractive from that perspective. He does not feel that he should use the government to dictate morality. I do feel that he will choose more conservative judges than a Democrat would and therefore he is to the "right" of the D's when it comes to interpreting the Constitution but is to the left of the R's when it comes to action restricting behavior.
Not a bad combination but the jury is still out on him.

I dislike him on both a personal and political level.. he is the most morally bankrupt individual running... I would vote for ANYONE over him..
Rudy Giuliani has been embroiled in scandals, his 9/11 record is blotched.. just ask the firefighters that blame him for the defective radios, that he was warned about, which resulted in over 242 deaths...
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17869046/
He later claimed that he spend just as much time as workers on ground zero, and didn't offer any kind of sympathy for the fact that they are suffering from illnesses, It was later found that he only spend 29 hours on ground zero, less then the time he spend at Yankee Stadium..
Then he was warned in 1993, after the first world trade center attacks to move the security office from the seventh floor out of the building in case of an emergency.. of course he didn't listen and look at the results..
He won't sign a pledge confirming lower taxes
And New York City’s crime rate being down attributes to police Commissioner Bill Bratton, Rudy had nothing to do with it.. “Bratton, not Giuliani, was featured on the cover of Time Magazine in 1996.[54] Giuliani forced Bratton out of his position after two years, in what was generally seen as a battle of two large egos in which Giuliani was unable to accept Bratton's celebrity”
His co-chair has been quoted as labeling "blacks retarded," not to mention that Giuliani's main sponsors have been caught in money fraud, drug/prostitution scandals, and child molestation
Don't forget when Rudy was mayor he was already accused of racial profiling, and not even reading the 9/11 commission report
He has been married three times, including once to his cousin, and his own children won't even speak to him, his daughter plans to vote for someone else..
His solution is to the failing public school system is not doing anything at all. He wants to leave the option open for parents to chose public or private schools, but most middle-class Americans, cannot afford to go to private school. Instead of letting the system fail, why not improve it, our tax dollars are already paying for it!

None of the candidates are a real good choice but I could live with Guliani as president, he's a whole lot better than Clinton.

He's strong on defense. He did great things in his time in NY, took on the mob, lowered crime rates, started insurance and adoption programs for children. He's a go-getter. He will not spend time as a leader arguing over resolutions that mean absolutely nothing.
I seriously doubt you'll find any candidate that matches what you believe 100%. But if abortion and same sex marriage are your absolute top concerns for the welfare of our country, he may not be the one for you.

Eh, is how I feel about him. Not thrilled, don't dislike. I happen to be pro-choice, too, and I'm not against same sex marriage, either. So, he isn't the only Republican out there who thinks that way.

Define Republican? The last true Republican died when Barry Goldwater passed away.
George Bush has also borrowed more money than the previous 42 Presidents combined, not exactly a conservative there.
