My neice is going to Miami to model? 2100/week?

My neice has her final interview and signing papers next week for 1 year to be a model for Reality K's modeling agency. She will make 2100/week unless breech of contract. Has anyone heard of this agency or been a model before. Concerned for her??

I've never heard of a model being paid a weekly salary. They're usually paid by the job.

Most modeling work is in New York City. Miami is not such a hotbed of modeling activity that they could guarantee your niece $8400 a month, I don't think.

I've also never heard of this agency, and can't find anything online under that name (the search engine keeps steering me toward either 3d computer modeling, realty companies, or "reality porn" from a company called K & C Media, for whatever that's worth). So I think you're right to be concerned. Are your niece's parents equally concerned?

I would definitely be concerned for her. That is not the kind of salary an agency pays for modeling that is on the up-and-up. Please call the police in the city where this agency is located to ensure it's not some kind of front for something else. Models (legitimate ones) are paid by the job, not by the week. That is very suspicious, unless it's catalog work.

I would do some extensive research before you let her go. There was recently a news report about people promising young women modeling jobs and then sending them overseas to be prostitutes. This was happening right here in the US. They showed Florida & California as a couple of places the girls thought they were going. All the money they supposedly were going to make was used up for rent, food, clothes, etc. They got trapped because they ended up owing the people that were prostituting them out. You have good reason to be concerned. RESEARCH - RESEARCH - RESEARCH. Your nieces life could depend on it.
