Good question, but its about 5%.

Francona/Henry/Theo's first choice at third is Mike Lowell. They are currently offering him a 3 YR/$30+M. He hasn't said whether he'll take it or not, but think of it. He loves Boston, he is loved by Boston, he just got a ring with them, and there team doesn't sound like its gunna change.

I'd say the chance is less than 10%. The Red Sox don't need him & the Boston fans really hate him. Why waste the money when you're not going to keep the fans happy? The Red Sox have won 2 World Series & how many has ARod won?

This is obviously a guess: Angels 35%, Mets, 30%, Red Sox 20%, Dodgers 10%, any of the other 26 teams 5%.

0%. It looks like Lowell will sign again with the Sox, and the team is so solid anyway, another big name might just muck it up. Last I heard, it was the White Sox or the Mets.

All of us in life usually have to answer for our reactions to various situations. Sports events are watched by millions of young to teenaged children. A-rod's behavior while on the field, not to mention off the field leaves a bad impression on these children. The Boston Red Sox have prided themselves on the type of behavior seen from its players as well as its entire staff. I believe A-rod has shown how he feels about the Red Sox in past games and would be a bad move for the Red Sox to embrace him.

Can we please stop the A-Rod stuff? Look, Boston's best bet is to try and hang on to Mike Lowell, otherwise you may see him in pinstripes next year. As far as Lugo is concerned, let's face it, the Sox have been hurting at SS since they let Nomar go.

But, what you need to worry about is two-fold. You need a plan B for the SS-3B positions. If you lose Lowell, get Cabrera from Florida and Tejada for SS.

Just a thought.

It all depends on Mike Lowell. They've made the offer to him and if he takes it they will almost certainly pass on Alex Rodriguez. They already have one the best 1-2 combinations with Big Papi and Manny. Where would they bat A-Rod?

Given a) their stated lack of interest, b) their interest in signing Lowell, c) Lowell's interest in signing with them, I would be the percentage at <10%.

i think about a 10% because if they do not sing mike lowell there's other players that can play the same position as alex.
