The Waterboys is a band formed in 1983 by Mike Scott. The band's membership, past and present, has been composed mainly of musicians from Scotland and Ireland. London, Dublin, Spiddal, New York and Findhorn have all served as homes for the group.

Karl Wallinger (founding member now fronting World Party) is from Wales. Mike Scott (leader) is from Scotland. The band officially hails from London.

One of them used to drink in a pub called the bothy in Dundee not sure where he was from though
