Generally when you get that old your face, neck, hands, start to wrinkle. Not to mention the saggy stuff. For some reason people who are 40 years old and above are grumpy ... and I think jeaouls of our youth ... specially when they try to run you over with their shopping carts ... they see us but act like they don't so they don't feel so old. 40 and older is a glum lot.

I don't agree--40 is not old. I consider 60 and above to be old. But 40, no. I know a lot of people over 40 who can do things younger people can't. However, age is a relative thing. There can't be a set age.

It's different for everyone. My mom, at 81, does full time volunteer work and goes dancing every Friday night. She plants a huge garden every year and cans the entire crop. Her mind, eyes, and reflexes are sharp. She's dating. She is never sick, she's always busy and has more energy than anyone I know.

On the other hand, I know some 40 year olds who veg in front of the TV every night, who have no energy and are suffering from clogged arteries.

I'm 40 and don't feel old. I guess it's a matter of perspective. I see a lot of older people at work and they call me a kid.

I guess I would consider 65 as old, but I might change my mind in 10 or 20 years (that is, if I'm not dead yet)

Who said half your life is over when you reach 40? Some people live to be over 100.

I always thought 40 was when men went through the middle-age crisis. At some age, 60 to 70 people gradually become less ashamed of their age.

I always say 50 and by the time you get 70 it's any day now ... I'm 30 now, so I have 40 more years to go if the Lord lets me live to see it ...

I think old should be based on each person. I sometime feel old & I am only 25. My great grandmother that still travels the world as often as she can is only 84 & still gets around like a 40 yrs old. So I think it is dependant on how old you feel.

Old is always 20 years older than what you are or when you have given up on life.
