Even now in my mid 20's there is still something quite magical about finding your stocking!!! As a child i was a really light sleeper and so would wake up when my mum put it on my bed so she would tell me that Father Christmas couldn't come up the stairs as he wanted to finish his mince pies then deliver the rest of the presents!! Even now my sister and i veto my parents ideas to get rid of our stockings!! Its just part of it!!
