Don't be insulted. They did not have to give you anything besides your paycheck. You should take it as a good thing, your boss likes you.

No, that's what your paycheck is for. The $5.00 is probably his way of showing a little appreciation. I wouldn't be insulted at all.

I would probably be a bit insulted. What was the card for? And why did you get it? Just out of the blue, I'd be thankful, but if it was for something specific, I'd be insulted.

Wow. There are some shallow people on here! Be thankful. Even if it is a re-gift, he didn't have to give it to you in the first place. He/She is just trying to be nice. Now, if they give it to you instead of your raise....that's a different question. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth....and more importantly, don't take it so personal.

It depends on what the card is for. It may just be a little tip for something nice that you did. Maybe your boss is just the clueless type. Whatever, say thank you and go on.

I'd be insulted. $5.00 only gets a gallon and a half of gas.

I would be insulted because I work very hard here. I deserve more, the least would be $20.

well it depends on how many other people he had to get one for, if you have 25 people at your company he bought one for then it seems a little reasonable (cheapskate but reasonable) now if he only had to buy for 10 people or less I'd be insulted
