science is knowledge, using the knowledge is technology. A toaster is technology. How it works is scientiic knowledge-radiation, (radiation is how the toaster works to toast the bread, the heat is made from forcing electricity through small wires with resistance to make heat)

The equipment toaster is used to toast the breads, namely to heat the material to desired temperature to result in the acceptable quality to eat the toasted item!

The parts are manufactured as per the engineering science only and it is assembled and tested also for performance as per the 'engineering science!' The toasting of bread in the toaster, namely the process of heating uniformly all the sides and to take it timely out - is the Process Science which we call as 'Technology!'

However the theories of food science for the bread and toasting and the material science for use of materials in making the toaster are only termed as 'science'!

So, we have the Science, Engineering Science as Manufacturing Science and the Process Science as Technology in the toaster!

Technology based upon science. Without science we wouldn't have technology. Does that make sense? They sort of have to have a part of each other in order to result in something else.

It depends on if you mean the technology that makes it work or the reaction when the toast burns. If a tree falls in the forest does a gnome die?

Mmm, toast! I think it's technology but I feel the need to go and check. I better check that it's still working while I'm there. Mmmm, marmite on toast, yummy!
