I hope the world is getting better but I fear it is on the road to getting worse.

The baby boomers are largely in charge and their generational values are nothing but destructive because of their ME attitude. (mercy is bad, etc.)

Global warming is a huge problem. I've been environmentally conscious for many years now. I drive a toyota corolla. I walk whenever I can. I ride a bike. I use public transportation when possible. I shut lights off. I don't watch much tv. I don't litter.
I don't smoke. I recycle everything I can. I'm about to organize a neighborhood clean up because I can't take the trash anymore on our street. There is no need for it at all. I feed the feral cats on my side of town with a group that is devoted to keeping the population down with a spay/neuter trap/release program. Any cats that are deemed adoptable find places to live until they can find permanent homes. I'm trying to do my part. But no doubt, we are in tough times.

I know there are a lot of people doing great and wonderful things that do not get the credit they deserve.

Before I will worship or praise any rich power junkie, I will worship and praise the people that really do the most important work in the world. (helping others help themselves, making the world a better place, and don't need to show off to anyone.)

Technology is great but it's caused us to be more isolated from each other. I think it does dehumanize us.

You've pretty much answered your own question, but if it's opinions you're after, I would have to agree with you that technology, as easy as it has made life, is not the answer to world betterment. And global warming is a real, though not immediate threat. As for morality, it has never been good. It was horrible as far back as Biblical times, and hasn't improved much since.

It's getting better. Technology saves lives. We all live richer and better lives. Morals are only fading among the secular humanists that populate the left. Global warming is drama for the elite, sort of like the loons that walk around holding signs claiming the world is ending, only they dress better.

My morals aren't going anywhere... I do not rely on other people to tell me what they are so I'm not worried about that.

I think the world is getting better like the calm after a storm... and I think if more people started to think that way, it would get even better still.

By the way, one of my morals is to be "environmentally sound" so the Global Warming thing is getting better on my end PLUS I am saving money on my gas and electric costs in the process.... good for me.

So other people can sit around and make up stories about how Gay people are making them get a divorce and be abusive to their kids...
And they can make up stories about how Terrorists caused us to infiltrate Iraq... again...

But I'm not blaming anyone for anything... I'm just keeping my side of the street clean.

Worse not because our "morals are fading" but worse because "morals" never were with the so-called "moral" to begin with and its showing!

BETTER because all of the right wing things: Hypocrisy, repression, bigtroy, class warfare, are being called out as unAmerican.

Net result:Better!

I don't know about the world, but today I read the U.S. described this way: A complacent country that's prey to scheming and deluded politicians, in which the news networks care only about ratings, and the public cares only about vapid celebrities. Somewhat close to the truth, in my opinion.

in a way both at the same time. compared to the dark ages were getting better (coz it was kinda impossible to get worse) but on the other hand nobody cares about the other and guys like bush really do get dangerous.

Much better in general, although there are still some places that are stuck in the dark ages.

Better, because corporations like Wal-Mart are starting up cheap labour camps in China and other third word countries to save money. Since Wal-Mart is an American corporation, the more money they save, the more money we'll save when shopping.
