They are as good as gone. David Stern can spew his typical hot air all he wants....the government entities have negotiated in good faith, but the Oklahoma City market proved to be a goldmine when New Orleans played there....a club was bound to cry the "poverty blues," the Sonics owner beat his brethren to it and will reap the rewards. This may usher in several years of domestic franchise shuffles, which is what Stern possibly fears the most, since it may delay his blueprint for global expansion of the NBA product.

Its over. Unless the Sonics can get an exciting player like Kobe (lol) that can bring ticket sales or do something, put on a show! Seattle fans have seen the last of their green team!

The Sonics legends that built that team will be ever missed

-"Downtown" Freddie Brown
-Jack Sikma
-Lenny Wilkens helped put the Sonics on the map as the team's first superstar
-Gus Williams Was part of their first championship
-Nate McMillan
And future waterdown Gary Patyon.

Those players helped keep the Sonics in Seattle!

Well David Stern wants them to stay in Seattle and so do the residents of Seattle but i've heard that the owner of the Sonics has informed David they are wanting to move to Oklahoma City.

Sounds like they're pretty much all but gone to Oklahoma City. But I can understand where maybe the people in Seattle have just had enough... first a new stadium for the Mariners, then for the Seahawks, and now an arena... and the public's expected to pay for them, when probably most people can't even afford to go see the games.

According to David Stern, Seattle had better keep them there. He said if they leave, Seattle isn't getting another team.

Probably not, but it's still to early to tell everything on the move. The fans will probably be very vocal in opposition, and they will also be very adamant about the team staying in Seatlle.

If they don't, David Stern will join Clay Bennett on my dartboard. Or maybe I should have their faces printed on alternating squares of toilet paper!
