I sanded metal body panels with like 80 grit sand paper with an air sander and there are scratches in the metal. Will like 3 coats of primer cover them or do i have to cover them with glaze?

I only used it in one area and happen to be the hood but when i noticed it was leaving scratches I decided to use a chemical stripper and that took the paint off in 10 seconds

get some 000 or 0000 steel wool to rub out the scratches before primer. it will make the surface smooth as glass.

How about sanding with a less aggresive grit? Go to a 180, and then 320, and then about 600. Once the panel is smoother, then you can go with a high fill primer and you should have a great smooth panel to work with.

good luck.
