Not any more. I used to own a .38, but I was younger and worked at a 'risky' job ... I've also had much training in shooting ... at the age of 10 I was taught to shoot handguns, rifles, and machine guns by the colonel who headed up the 'precision shooting team' at the air force base near us. When I was 16, I had a friend whose grandmother had been the FIRST female officer to carry a gun in the local police force, and we got to go to the police range to shoot, where we also received instruction. I KNOW GUNS, and I choose not to carry a gun because I know that I am not as strong as I once was, and I don't see as well (I'm 57 with health issues) and I don't want my guns stolen to be used to commit crimes ... so I don't own guns any more.

I keep dart guns at school for fun. I have a daughter, so I don't have a gun. The person most likely to die from your gun is a family member. I'll just lock the door, thanks. And if you own a gun, let me know so I don't make the mistake of drinking with you.

Yes, guns are absolutely necessary and I own a trench spike, several swords, an axe, and other weapons for survival when the undead attack, which happens quiet frequently in my area. So I have to be prepared, I have several sniper guns, because you only need one shot and that's in the head. I recommend "Zombie Survival Guide" by Max Brooks, it saved my life and it has the best weapons for getting out alive when an attack happens.
