You're from the South aren't you?
To answer the question: I think that since hip-hop started in the Bronx, NY the people who started it with purpose don't like seeing it be destroyed by people rapping without purpose.
EDIT:Well I'm from Jersey and I don't hate on the South. There's some talent down there. But to me listening to music without purpose is like watching a stupid television show. Its entertaining when your bored. But for the most part it doesn't stimulate your mind and won't make you think.

I can relate more to rapper raping about the stars and moon than a wanna-be gangsta saying he gets does 7 drugs at once while hitting hoes and jumping around like a fool. That's just me, though.
I like hip hop that makes you think like Andre 3000, Lupe Fiasco, Common, Nas, Talib Kweli, etc. You're probably more of a fan of the pop rap like 50 Cent, Soulja Boy, etc.

To me, if it's not lyrical, then why bother. Would you listen to someone speak if they weren't saying anything of interest? Would you buy there CD? I mean, yes, it's up to your personal taste. But the point I'm trying to make is if the rapper has nothing to say, then get rid of him/her, just play the beat! It's the same thing without the annoyance.

If you aren't giving a rapper props because he's not lyrical, then what are you giving him props for???
That's like saying "Yo, I'm tired of people not giving quarterbacks props because they can't throw a ball."
Sorry, but I judge rappers by their talent not by there record sales, wardrobe, or any other thing.
