I'm 34 weeks and my hips and lower back are stiff and sore. Is there anything I can do for this while I'm at work? I'm in an office and so can't lie down or sprawl around in my desk chair.

This isn't really something you could do AT work..but AFTER work that would help while you're at work. Go swimming. I try to get myself to the pool every day for at least an hour and just swim around and get moving in the water...I don't mean like all out lap swimming or anything just get moving in the water. It helps release all the built up tension in your body that can cause those aches and pains. It does wonders for me.

My doctor told me the reason my hips hurt so bad is because at this point our ligaments are starting to soften in our hips and pelvic region to help with delivery. Your hips may feel like they are going to pop out sometimes?? I know mine do and my doctor said its because of the ligaments softening.

You can take tylenol...and while that doesn't banish the pain it does help dull it a tiny bit and every little bit helps!

Put rice in a sock or if you sew sew a little bag out of old jeans and heat it in the microwave...my MIL told me about this one and it does WONDERS!

Drink lots and lots of water to help keep everything lubricated!

Congrats on the baby, good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and I wish you a safe and healthy delivery!!

One thing that can help is get yourself just a little bitty footstool and put it under your desk. Sometimes just getting your feet up makes all the difference! Also, get a cushion to put behind your back or to sit on. Sometimes the sitting can get to be too much. If at all possible, get up and walk around for 5 minutes or so every half an hour. Drink plenty of fluids to keep your joints well lubricated, and do some stretching type exercises before work in the morning.

I haven't been able to figure that one out myself. However, at my lamaze class, they told me to get tennis balls in socks and put them behind your back and move around on them. Also, put rice in a sock and heat it up and use that to soothe aches and pains.
