If I were to say I'm voting for Rudy because he's white, or because he's a man, I'd be torn to pieces.

P.S. Obama's not even black, is he? He's half-black or something.

Well I think you should vote for someone because they are a good candidate, not because of race or gender. That means that not every person who supports hillary supports her because she's a woman, or obama because he's black. hope this helps! <3 DeegeMonster

I guess we are pretty tired with the old-boy-two-party-system. Because nothing ever changes. Because if Hillery and Obama are shouting the same old reteric, then nothing will change. With the diversity of our nation today, we should have at least 10 to 12 parties. Our fore-fathers were just getting us started. The constitution does not say we can only have two parties. I have never been excited about any candidate during my entire years of voting. In fact, I don't know anyone who votes but me. The excuse is, it doesn't matter any way. Case in point, what happened in Florida last election. So what to do about those two. Well, when I get behind the curtain, I do my best and say a prayer first. Do you know, if you don't check off even one box, they throw your ballot out as incomplete? Or if you write in a candidate such as Mickey Mouse, they will throw it out too! I am not kidding you, Mickey could win!! Mickey should run!!

Its not okay to vote for Hillary or Obama because of gender, the people who think that way are mistaken and are, well quite frankly being discriminatory. Quite honestly I don't think either one will gain an advantage based on those votes, since they will cancel out with voters who will not vote in a black man or a woman. Either way anyone is better than Bush.

Is name calling and accusations of race or gender bating all you have left?

Can't you say something good about your candidate, instead of trying to say something bad about the others?

If you want to say you are voting for Rudy because he is white - go right ahead. Of course that is not saying much, as - if you haven't noticed, all the presidents up until now have been white males. So go with the status quo if you like.

Some however, might just think a change would be good. Black, female, Asian or Hispanic. Name your poison and pick the one you like. This is America and you have the right to support anyone you want.

Just remember though, if they should get elected, if things go to hell in America under their leadership - you are partly at fault for supporting them.

It's not okay, and I don't know anyone who is voting for Hillary simply because she's a woman, or for Obama because he is part African-American. I'm voting for Hillary because I approve of her stand on the issues and on Iraq. Simple as that. The fact that she's a woman is a nice aside, but not a reason to vote for her.

who says it's OK to vote for Hillary because she's a woman, and Obama because he's black. those would be some pretty shallow reasons. and wanting to vote for Rudy just because he's white seems somewhat prejudice.

As both of them are intelligent and make the best team people can vote a Hillary / Obama ticket.

Even if the above are the considerations ( as mentioned in the Question ) there is no harm.

Being half-black doesn't make him not black...it simply makes him half-black.

I don't think it's okay to vote for Hillary because she's a woman, or Obama because he's black. I believe people should vote for the person that stands for the issues and causes that they want to support.

Of course, I'm not naive enough to believe things actually work that way...I'm just saying.

It is silly. I mean, Obama isn't 'really black' (1/2 Kenyan doesn't exactly make you heir to the legacy of MLKjr and Harriet Tubman), and are we really 100% sure Hillary is a woman & Rudy a man?
