That's a very good question. It's the perception more than the reality of being poor that bothers people. Things are unlikely to change until we have a third political party.

Look into the history of those nations that had revolutions and why. Including Americas. It will give you a clue as to how far things have to go bad before people take action. Mankind, in this regard, hasn't changed all that much.

On this sight someone call Liberals bleeding hearts. I will proudly wear that label and know it is because I care about the poor. But one thing is true, the poor will have to start voting and stand up for themselves as well as finding out who has their best interest at heart. Maybe they will figure out, it is the liberal bleeding hearts.

Is it not enough that the top 2% of the population contributes 90% of the taxes?

Go to school, get an education, get a job, work hard, climb the ladder and stop complaining.

I recently read an article that stated if you and your spouse are making ove r40 thousand a year, you are in the top 10%.

Who defines these numbers?

Don't hate because someone has more then you, watch them, do what they do and work your way up. Envy is a major sin.

i think it is dependent on the education of the lower class

or ability to conceptualize change,

and change is so complicated in this technologically advanced society people are easily confused about cause and effect,
the cause of our problems is about the same it has always been

the elite fighting the rest for power over everything


yes 80 k is the top ten percent
but they pay the same tax as 1 billion a year,,,

I'm technically poor according to the government's definition. I'll cry about it when I go home and soak in my hot tub and pool.

All they have to do is vote. There are more poor people than rich...the poor just don't vote. Therefore they shouldn't complain.
