the problem for long division is (6x^2+7+-6) / (2x+1)
i got the answer of 3x+2-8/2x+1
for the synthetic the problem is (a^3+4a-5) / (a-2)
i got an answer of 1x+6+1/a-2

are my answers right

(I assume you meant to type (6x^2+7x-6) / (2x+1))

Your first answer is correct. Good job!

Your second answer is incorrect. Don't forget, you need to insert a zero if a power of the polynomial is missing. So your top row should be

1 0 4 -5

I get (a² + 2a + 8) + 11/(a-2)
