This is how it typically goes:

High School Diploma/GED
Associates Degree
Bachelors Degree
Masters Degree
Doctorate

There's also several types of certifications and licences that can be obtained through courses of study. And you don't necessarily need an Associates to obtain a Bachelors if you transfer directly into a four year school.

You get an friends degree in 2 years and a Bachelors degree takes 4. A BA is extra positive than an AA. once you've a BS degree, it extremely is a similar volume of education as a BA, notwithstanding that is in a diverse section. BA stands for Bachelor of Arts and a BS is Bachelor of technology.

Your statement is possible. It all depends on the schools you go to and what degree you want to earn.

For example: Cincinnati State Technical College has agreements with University of Cincinnati so a student can transfer all their credits over. So, in theory, 2 years at Cincy State and 2 at UC will earn you a bachelors degree.

But, some degrees, such as engineering take 5 years to complete, so you would need to take at least 2 years at the tech school and 3 in the Bachelor program.

Basically, yes. You have to make sure the classes in your associates program will transfer to the four-year college; if you lose credits in the transfer, it will take you that much longer. Courses over 100 generally transfer.

It also depends on how many courses you take each semester--Getting your bachelors degree means that you are taking 5 classes (in some semesters you will have extra for lab courses) each semester for eight semesters (or equivalent quarters). That may NOT be the best for you, especially if you have to work; it's normal now to take six years to get your bachelors degree while working part-time. You don't have to declare a major until your junior year, so you are fine getting a general studies degree--just make sure to have English and math!

If it's a community college most are not qualified to award a bachelor's degree. However some offer what's called a 2+2 program that will allow you to transfer your credits to a university so that you can receive a bachelors degree.

Ummmm......I think I know what the question is. Yes, I believe your assumption to be correct. You have to choose a major and take the required classes.

Check with one of your school's advisors. They will be able to help you with what you need to take relative to the degree you seek.
