How much more usually would I need to pay if I ask for a room facing the strip upon check in? I'm heading over in mid-December, staying at Monte Carlo and was thinking of asking for a room facing the street, any ideas?

You normally know right off the bat if a hotel requires guests to pay more for the view - just look at the pricing chart on the hotel's Web site. For example, rooms at the Bellagio are priced according to their view of the Lake Bellagio.

After reviewing the Monte Carlo's Web site, it doesn't look like the view is one of their pricing factors. So, I would recommend calling ahead and requesting a room with the best view of the Strip.

I've never stayed there, but I'm pretty sure you don't have to pay extra for a room facing the strip. It just depends if any are available at the time.

I wouldn't get that thrilled about which way a room faces, getting out and enjoying yourself is more of the fun. $20 more a night? But, you could win that in one hand of BlackJack.
