After the test, the consultant told me that HE cannot see my cervix properly and he recommends a treatment and that they have to cut around my cervix and sent it off for a test and I dont have to worry about it. Help me, I dont understand when he said I dont have to worry about it. Why wouldn't I?If that is the case , why do they have to cut me inside?pls enlighten me...

What they will do is just take a small sample of the tissue around the cervix. The test is used to rule out cancer, and it is a fairly common procedure when the cervix cannot be viewed very well. They will look at the tissue sample under a microscope to see if there are any cancer cells. If there are, which is rather unlikely, they have caught it in its earliest stages and when it is most curable. If there are no suspicious cells, then you're home free. That's probably what the technician meant when he said not to worry. The test is just routine, and it doesn't mean that they suspect cancer. You will probably be given a local anesthetic so you won't feel any pain during the procedure, which does not take but a few minutes.

I had this done 3 years ago. It is no worse than a normal cervical smear. You dont feel anything
They are testing for pre-cancerous cells. You have a very small bleed afterwards but no pain. Then they let you know about the sample. Please dont worry this is very, very common . ITs over in about 15 mins.
They dont really cut you, they cauterise you. When I had it done and came outside into the waiting room I had a big grin on my face, my Mum was sitting there looking worried. She asked me what I was grinnning at...I told her that I had just watched smoke coming out of me flue. She laughed like hell and so did I. The Nurses looked at us as if we were mad.
So dont worry you will be fine. Godbless xx

I had it done, and it wasn't serious. If you didn't understand the doctor, you should have just asked him right then!

:) you will be fine - the procedure is actually quite common.
