i've been watching horror films since i was six. it's the element of being scared. it's the thrill. i love all type of horror movies. even the over the top gory ones. the more realistic the better. thats why ones with ghosts are the best. i'm actually writing a horror film. thank god they made a come back. i'm going back to the old school way. like the shining. if you want less blood, check out six sense, disturbia, and the others. sometimes it's fun to turn off all the lights and make some popcorn and watch a good scary movie.

I've often wondered the same thing myself. I would enjoy horror movies so much more if it weren't for all the fake gore and other crap.
Anyone that really gets into those flicks, I'm usually wary of. It's a little abnormal to desire seeing people tortured and mutilated even in a phony context.

I've also wondered the same! I guess some people like the scare when there's the safety net that "it's only a movie, it's only a movie!" I avoid movies like Saw because I don't like scenes where I have to avert my eyes to keep from being nauseated!

For me, it gets my heart racing and my adrenaline going, and it's kind of an addictive feeling. I watch a lot of horror movies.
