Your question is unclear. If you plan to major in Statistics, then you need Calculus -- and lots of it.
If you are asking if you need Calculus to take a statistics class -- then it depends. You would need it to take any advanced statistics class -- but not for an introductory class that is designed for non-scientists. That is -- if you are taking a statistics class designed for business majors or social science majors (other than advanced economics students), or liberal arts students -- then calculus is probably not needed.

absolutely. if it werent, i would take it anyway. once you get into it, the rest of the maths seem childish. calculus is the origin of it all
