LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - As the writers strike entered its third day Wednesday with no end in sight, Fox said it would not air "24" this season.

That does not mean it was cancelled. As seen on "Extra" yesterday, 24 is still filming BUT they only have 8 episodes in the can and they network stated that the start date of Jan would be postponed. Furthermore they want to air the entire season without interruption therefore until the strike ends, the start date for 24 will be pushed back.

24 is not being cancelled!! Its just no airing until the writers strike is over. The network does not want to start airing episodes and then run out, so they are going to hold off starting the show until they can run all the new episodes without a break. When that will be, who knows - but its definitely not cancelled! Also, if the writers strike is short, the show will start airing when it was originally scheduled to begin.

Is it really being cancelled for the whole year??? I thought it would just be pushed back to a later date!!

My husband is going to go insane when he hears this :0
