I went through this same problem. Even now that I'm sixteen, a lot of places won't hire me because I'm so young - they want it to be legal when they keep you after hours to clean up.

Try grocery stores or places like Target or Walmart. They'll hire anyone usually.

Otherwise, try doing work for your family.

When I was 13, I cut coupons for my grandmother and raked the yard. You can ask around and see if anyone needs receipts, photos, or recipes organized. I used to do that for my mum. My sister irons and babysits. Try and start with a family member and then get them to recommend you to the neighbors or members in your church. Hope this helps!

Try to get a paper route! Or you could do yardwork or chores for neighbors/family. Like shoveling, raking, mowing lawns, garbage, painting, cleaning, mailing bills, etc. I think the legal age to get a job is 14, so until then you will have to make due with things like that.

DO they still hire kids as paper boys? I hardly see them anymore. I used to deliver news paper in middle school. I used to make good money. I bought my audio system, my own TV and save up for my first car. It was good honest living. Got up at 5am and finished my rounds by 7am and went to school. It also teaches a good lesson on value of the money, responsibility and managing your finances.

Weasel a decent allowance out of your parents, which will probably entail doing tough work around the house that will build character and whatnot.
