I feel sorry for the Twins fans that have to deal w/ Pohlad as an owner. Will say this though, the Twins should trade Santana and Nathon, for young 3b, cf, lf, ss. Those 2 players should be able too get the twins what they need to let the team grow up just in time for the opening of the new ballpark.

With Morneau, Maur, Cuddyer, and Casilla the twins have some nice pieces. So trade Nathon to the Rockies for Ian Stewart and a couple of low minor leaguers, and trade santana as well. If the twins do that, they could be ready in a couple of years with that nice young pitching they have in Liriano, Baker, Slowey, Perkins, Garza etc..

Then after that Mr. Pohlad you had better start spending your Billions. Tired of seeing a front office to a great job and have the owner screw the pooch for no more reason than being greedy.

I'm with Frizzer on this one. Those fans in Minneapolis are some of the best in baseball, and it's a shame that all they have is 2 titles after 46 seasons in the Twin Cities. Ownership needs to definitely step up and seed that team.

If they let Santana get away, which is a concern, then you're going to have the domino effect. After that say good by to the likes of Morneau and others.

And re-sign Hunter. Who in baseball is going to fill that man's shoes defensively --- NO ONE! But I forgot, we're talking about an organization that let an underrated David Ortiz leave and go wreak havoc in the AL East.

I don't feel sorry for the Twins at all, but I do feel sorry for the fans of the Twins. They are a player or two away from being one of the elite teams and the owners won't invest the money in a few players to get them there.

I feel sorry for the fans of all of Minnesota. I mean the minnesota teams always lose there best players and seems like they all go to boston. Ortiz to the Boston Red Sox. KG to the Boston Celtics. And Randy Moss is with the Patriots which is kind of Boston. What's next the Wild are going to trade Gaborik to the Bruins.

They also have superior scouting ability in addition to a few all stars in the lineup every year. No, I don't feel sorry for them. Baseball isn't huge in Minnesota like it is in Chicago, St. Louis, New York, Boston, et al. They have the means to compete. They just do it through scouting. Teams like the Giants, Orioles, and Yankees compete through free agents and trades that deplete their farm systems. I don't see anything wrong with either method if they work.

Only for the Twins fans themselves. They root for a team that have an owner who could spend more money if he wanted to but chooses not to.

I feel bad for the fans. Ortiz gone, Hunter free agent, and Santana may be gone. Garnett gone to the Celtics.

How are the fans feeling in Minnesota? I'd be pissed.

About as sorry as I feel for the Royals . . . not very.

To add to the great list, though:

Lyman Bostock
Rod Carew
