I'm going to take a shot in the dark, here, and say that there weren't any impeachable offenses to debate.

They look foolish enough as it is. They haven't been able to do much of anything after the 06 election, and going forward with articles of impeachment against Cheney when they have no evidence to do so is not helpful to their cause. Remember how foolish they looked after attacking Rush?

There are plenty of impeachable offenses to debate. However, the democrats, much like the republicans, are paid for by someone sitting behind a desk that doesn't reside in the White House.
So if you honestly think impeaching anyone is going to do anything you are sorely mistaken. It is a nice gesture though.

They know it would go down in flames and cost the party many districts.
Plus the little matter of criminal charges have to be made. Maybe David is out looking for the mother ship to give him further instructions.

Did it occur to you that all the intell came from the Clinton administration so they are all just as guilty (in your eyes)? In fact we could say they set Cheney and Bush up with false intel.

They realize they don't have any leg to stand on and it's more politically advantageous to crow about it than actually do it.
