I take Alli ( the new FDA approved diet pill) and I am TTC. I also take clomid and metformin and the doc said it was fine. They rate the pills you take on some sort of scale of what is allowed to be taken together and they said keep losing weight while trying to have a baby

You don't need diet pills to lose weight. Eat healthy, count your calories and the weight will come off. Do not take diet pills if you are trying to have a baby. There is nothing wrong with dieting without pills and trying to conceive though. Once you get pregnant, you need to stop dieting but you also need to stick with the healthy eating though. Good luck!

General rule of thumb is: Don't put anything in your body while trying to concieve that you wouldn't put in your body when you are pregnant. If you are just moderately overweight, just cut out a couple hundred calories a day (one 12 oz soda a day times 7 days=1050 calories). Then start walking. Walking is great exercise, and you can continue it throughout your pregnancy. I do the 10,000 steps a day walking program and have lost 8 lbs in 3 weeks. You shouldn't lose more than 2-4 lbs in a week, it isn't healthy to lose more, and those pounds won't stay off anyway.

If you are very overweight, and worry that it will be hard for you and the baby while pregnant, go and see a nutritionist (you may need to get a doctor's referral for insurance to pay for it) A nutritionist can tailor a diet for you that is healthful, filling, and still low in calories so you can lose weight.

Well not it is not good to take them while trying to get pregnant. When I concieved my son I was taking diet pills and I didn't know I was pregnant. Some times I thought that the pills might have increased my chances of getting pregnant. But, if you are trying to get pregnant my advice is lose the weight first and then get pregnant. If you get pregnant, and you have weight on you then you would more weight to lose after the baby. Hope this helps.

No. You really shouldn't take diet pills when you're not trying to conceive either. Just eat healthy foods and watch the portion size. Remember that if you do get pregnant, you will need to gain weight. Just eat healthy and don't worry about the scale.

loose the weight first, that's what I did. I dropped about 15 pounds it took a about 1 month in half. I think being healthy and exercising actually increased the risk of becoming pg. I know your going to gain it back but at least your going into your pg. healthy. and you will remain healthy through out. I had a big issue with gaining weigh during my pg. But the more in shape you are and healthy you will have a better delivery to.

Good Luck to you

No. It would be a bad idea to take them. If you become pregnant while on them, it could do damage or it make not let you get pregnant. My doctor said you should be off of them for a few months before getting pregnant. I was going to go on them while trying to get pregnant. Good luck.

If you're trying to lose weight you probably shouldn't be trying to conceive
