Consider the people who are not in intimate relationships, who for some reason can't find a partner or who are not capable of sustaining a relationship.
Consider all sexual encounters.

I like your synopsis Jason R.
Lets put more thought into this, it is not just about me or you.
Sex is a important subject.
All beings from very young preteens, those in instititions, people who has loved and lost that partner, older people, challenged people, please speak.

What do you think about transforming these reactions.?
What would that be?

Interesting Johan D, is that a defence which would hold up in a court of law, for a sexual offence.

All biological functions reach a certain level of freedom in human beings which is unparalleled in the animal kingdom. That's why humans are capable of such heights of creativity and such depths of destruction. The sexual drive is no exception. And since it is such a powerful biological drive to start with, it reaches spiritual heights and depths which few human experiences can rival. There are few experiences more spiritually damaging than rape; and few as transcendent in uniting mind and body both within the self and with the other as in mutually loving sex.
Peace to you.

Actually- from my understanding, it is both. With human development, by the time a person reaches a certain age- hormones start kickin' in- and they start to desire others sexually. They are confused about these feelings at first since they are new, but what they do know is they want to be closer to someone- a lot closer. Since this desire is based of of very complex chemical reactions shaped by millenia of evolution- it can be very strong. Without this desire- the human population would not have grown the way it has. Now saying this- there is free will involved as well- as powerful as this desire is, people can choose whether or not they feel like having sex (despite what some people say). Yeah- sometimes people feel like they would rather die than have sex (me included sometimes), there is a choice.

It may be a biological function but it's also a choice. You're the ones choosing to pull your clothes off and spread your legs when all the while you can also choose not to. Is anyone holding a gun to your head and telling you to have sex? NO? Then start thinking for yourselves so you can straighten out your lives. Don't let somebody tell you that you have to, cause you don't.

It is both.
The biological function of sex is to reproduce a species. At this time, with the population at the level it is, it is neither necessary or to be condemned.
In humans it is a choice. In other species, it seems to be something they are willing to fight, cross fire, and die for.
the best to you.

When you are young you have a body full of raging hormones so it is the biological clock that urges you to perform, but it still your choice to yield to those desires or not.
With age the urge to breed diminishes and then it becomes a matter of choice.

The desire and the drive to have sex is a biological function.
Acting on it is a choice.
If we pretend that taking off our pants and ramming or getting rammed (depending on if you're a male or female) is just some involuntary biological function, then it would be okay to sleep with anything with two legs, have sex without emotion, cheat on your husband/wife, steal someone's boyfriend or girlfriend, or do anything sexually immoral.
After all, if we can pretend its just some biological function outside of our realm of control, then why would we ever need to have personal responsibility for such actions?

I believe it is instinct, and biological, and according to the persons makeup it can be controlled, not totally dissipated, check out the priests, choice did not work so well for some of them. animals do not receive sex ed, or any type of advice, it is a natural occurrence.

To path walk on another and to allow them to path walk on you, is both. Both and more, the light fragments into pairs of opposites and this kind of walking on light brings it together. The one became two so to be whole the two become one. ~ : )

Both. It is a biological function which you can choose to engage in or not. If it was necessary in order to survive (as an individual of course, not as a species) then there could be no celibate monks and nuns etc, and everyone would need to have sex at regular intervals or else perish.
