If not, what's your reasoning?

I never got the flu shot (because I believed all the myths) until 2004 when I wound up nearly DYING from the flu - I was hospitalized, then wound up with severe thyroid problems requiring radiation, daily medication and frequent blood work.

It's not too late - and your insurance company will likely pay for it as preventative medicine.

So - are YOU getting it?? They say on average, 25% of us will - I'm curious to see if your responses match the national average.
Thanks everyone!

I already got it =)

wanna know something sooo stupid? I asked my roommate if she was getting it too and she said no...here is her reasoning: she said she's never gotten the flu so she's gonna wait until she gets the flu to get a flu shot...SHE IS SO STUPID SOMETIMES!!!! haha and we're at college where germs spread like CRAZY!

Already got mine.

Only reason I did this year, and in 2004, was because I am the primary care giver for a cancer patient.

If it weren't for that, I wouldn't get it. It's not worth the sore burning arm and joint pain for a week after.
I use a neti pot once a day to wash out my sinuses, I always wash my hands, I consume a lot of garlic and ginger in the fall and winter, and if I still get it; I have Chinese herbs I cook with my chicken soup, and load up on vitamin c.... I've NEVER had the flu hang on for more than 5 days.

I have to get one every year. Sever asthma and allergies make this a requirement. The one year I skipped getting one I ended up on a respirator for 2 weeks. That was not fun.
If you do have asthma or sever allergies, usually your allergist's office can provide you with the shot.

Had mine already. I have no spleen and could die if from complications of the 'flu - otherwise I wouldn't bother. I tend to go for the least possible intervention.

I do. I work in a healthcare system, so I want to hedge my bets. We get it for free, and the two (far separated) years I didn't, I got it. The recovery wasn't as bad as you, but I stopped gambling after that.

I am definately
I don't really care about pain or anything since i've had to get 5 other shots recently and more to come, so i might as well add one more!!

I'm not going to.

It may sound illogical..but I've never had the flu shot..and I've never had the flu..

I'm going with those odds...
