for indoor drumline, how do u tell where to go, unlike field marching u have lines?

for indoor drumline(meaning the whole indoor ensemble not just pep drumline), how do u tell where to go, unlike field marching u have lines, but in indoor u have nothing....is that y they use floor designs?

Well you have a tarp that is painted with some sort of design. I don't know if our schools drumline use small tape marks that they put down on the tarp so that when there practice they can remember where to go. I'm in winter guard and we put tape marks on the ground when first learning. You just memorize your position based on the location of other people and the design on the tarp.
