Life is the rarest thing in our universe. Doesn't that make it worth defending? Is it not also apparent, that we are the only species on earth capable of protecting and nurturing all the other species of our planet?
Why then, do we continue to consume and produce, at the cost of our world, at an exponential rate? Why is this happening?

In a word, religion. Why take care of this "vale of tears" if all the wonderful things are to be had in the next life. If it is all an illusion, what is lost? If Jesus comes tomorrow, won't you feel silly about worrying about a few polar bears and some ice?

Never has it been more important for human beings to wake up and become authentic owners of their own beliefs. We cannot wait for religions to die on their own. The world will be gone before the last religious, well meaning, mind has been changed to accept our precious finite lives.

life is not rare.
life is everywhere.
you will not find any spot on the surface of the earth that is without life.
and when we get to other planets, there will be found more life.

environmentalists would have people believe themselves so responsible for every action and it effect on the whole world.

get over it. even if there was a nuclear war, and nuclear winter lasts for 20 years killing off all light dependent life on earth. there will still be life here. and it will be underground and in the ocean depths near volcanic ocean beds.

bacteria.
they were here long before all of us, and they will be here when we are long gone.
from bacteria all life can be regrown.
it just takes time. a few billion years.

or do you mean human life is rare.
there are 6.6 billion people on earth,
by 2050 there will be more than 9 billion people on earth.
not so rare?

as to your responsibility to the planet is concerned.
take care of yourself, your family, friends, business, community, the environment in you immediate area.
thats you zone of control. thats where you can make a difference.

do not preach environmentalism,
practice environmentalism in what you do every day.

as to what people consume and why they consume it?
this has more to do with economics and government and business policies. and the spending habits of millions of people. not to many of us have influence over those factors.

you want to contribute to society and the earth?

I challenge you to smile all day every day from now on.
the more you smile the better you will feel.
when you feel good, people around you feel better too.
let that good feeling spread over the earth
be the role model that everyone needs.
look around happy people make the most environmental friendly choices.

Good luck on your new mission.

For them, it's quick and easy. They don't worry about the future of this planet. We all know that we have to start saving the earth. It's deteriorating day by day. Every American knows this.

I think we're headed in the right direction. Although, I'm usually turned off by fads, going "green" has really opened up my eyes in many ways. As people realize how natural it is to go green, people will begin to change their lifestyle.

I have hope for this planet and the human race.

A changed in perspective. Materialism is wrong as is spiritualism. We must have a new perspective because wrong perspectives have wrong consequences. These consequences are unavoidable no matter how we try to avoid them with ideals.

Ideals are also unrealistic and self-destructive. Imagine totally accomplishing any ideal and you will see how ridiculous it is. But ideals are all we have being materialists and materialist who think they are spiritualists. Without a new perspective our intellectual bag is not empty but full of contradictions which demand a competitive response which works to destroy everything.

The only way to stop killing is to cease to exist.

To know, is to know that you know nothing.

Better know nothing than half-know many things.

The study of theology, as it stands in the Christian churches, is the study of nothing; it is founded on nothing; it rests on no principles; it proceeds by no authority; it has no data; it can demonstrate nothing; and it admits of no conclusion.

War cannot be avoided; it can only be postponed to the other's advantage.

Commerce with all nations, alliance with none, should be our motto.

Envy is ignorance, imitation is suicide.

I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish Church, by the Roman Church, by the Greek Church, by the Turkish Church, by the Protestant Church, nor by any Church that I know of. My own mind is my own Church.

Perhaps thinking that all humans are not killers and we are evolving ...perhaps not quick enough but there's lots of us out there ..who don't kill , love humanity , mother earth , and life . All is not lost

Can you imagine what the world would be like if human's stopped killing each other?

Really...how would we feed everyone and where would they live?

Killing is as natural as living. Balance is everything.
