what the 16,17,18yrs old of today are really up to
like when they say kids binge drink, we dont binge drink, we go on binges on coke, ecstasy, shrooms, and prescription drugs.
we used to binge drink back in 8th grade. the media and basically parents have no idea what we really do.
i think if they just were to ask an actually cool late teen one of the many stories we have , the country would be shocked.
noone has really any idea how reckless we are.
when our generation gets to be in their 20s or 30s i think then the country will find out how reckless we really are. i know people know we are bad but not nearly as bad as we really are. its gonna be a shock to alot of people what our lives consist of in an everyday basis. the kid that were seniors probably just 4 years ago , have NOTHING ON US. much less the kids from the 80s or 70s. so never believe what you hear on the media about teens or any statistics about teens cause changes are we really are 15x more bad then that.

Yeah i agrre with you.
I HATE it when you hear on the
local news "What your kids are really
up to and how you should talk to them about..."
Adults need to STOP thinking they know everything.
How do they really know what to say to us if something
is wrong? The dont, they lived in a different generation when times were different. My mom thinks im a good girl but she has no clue what i really do. The news has no clue, only WE do! I think most parents would be shocked if they found out what there teen did and talked about during school ours ans stuff that happended out of school reach.
Yeah and the DARE company that goes into schools....
Is a good program to teach us about reistance to drugs
But its kind of has no point because so many people i know
are smoking and drinking......Sadly Its just not getting through.
Well All in All i think Parents of today need to wake up.
BIG TIME.

I haven't done any of those hard drugs you mentioned. I'm not going to lie like I haven't tried drinking or pot. I drank so much one night I was sick for a week, and that was the last time I drank. I have smoked, but my grades are A's and B's and I don't want to ruin that. At my school we look down on people who do hard drugs, there the losers. In fact our school has a campaign going on for seat belts and against drunk drivers. I know what you mean though, so many little kids are drinking and having sex. Its disgusting, I just want to tell them to be a kid a little bit longer. Good question.

I think the kids that do idiotic things are just that... idiots!! You are digging yourself an early grave and that in my opinion is nothing to be proud of! You and your friends will probably 30 years old, living at home with your parents (who are stupid enough to support you), with not job, bumming money off your parents. Or you will be a hobo panhandling. That's if you live long enough! Either way, that's a waste of a life!
By the way, you brag about how "reckless" you guys are, but I bet if something were to happen you would just run to mommy and daddy. You have nothing to prove, just being an example of what drugs can do to a person. Nobody cares how "bad" you really are.
Also, not all teenagers are like you guys or act like you or the way I have expressed.
Please don't take offense. I am just voicing my opinion.

If that is the life of every teen you know then you need to find a new set of friends.

None of my friends binge drink, and they're all 18 and 17 or older. Not many of my friends smoke cigarettes. And I only have 1 "friend" (not sure I'd use that word but hey why not) that does pot, every once in a while. My friends are all freshmen and sophomores in college. We're good kids. Sure you may call us goodie goodies but we have higher priorities then drinking, smoking, and doing drugs. And experimenting with sex. I only have one close friend that has been with more than two people. I have two close friends that have been with only two people. And I myself have only been with one person, my fiancee. I'm 18 and my fiancee is 23.

And in the 8th grade we weren't allowed to go to parties like your talking about. We had sleepovers and we went to movies and the park.

Personally I had my first sip of alcohol with my family. I've never ever been drunk just really buzzed. And yes I HAVE been to "real" parties.

I don't know about you and your friends but it sounds to me that your friends haven't realized what my friends and I have realized. . . You can have fun at a party with out drugs and getting drunk.

Good Luck.

...and you know what it was like to be a teen in the 80's and 90's how? (80's-- coke filled, 90's- heroin chic....)

Every generation thinks that they are the biggest rebels when they're in that era. You're a small minority of what kids are actually doing. You just think that everyone is doing it because you are.

Grow up and get a job, and stop being so proud of being a stoner. Spend your money on something that will last longer than 6 hours.

Just another person trying to give teenagers a bad name.

Of course, there are teenagers AND adults who partake in this type of behavior, but you can't honestly expect us to believe that every teenager is like this. PUH-LEASE. I was a teenager myself not too long ago, and yes, I did my share of drugs, drinking, sex, etc. Looking back, do I think I was cool? NO! I was a moron, as is every other person, whether they're a teenager or not, who partakes in this type of behavior.

Let's see how "cool" you think you are when you're in the hospital because of an overdose. Or better yet, I have a true story for you. I had a friend who had been partying the night before, had a drink early in the day, and decided to get in a vehicle and drive with another friend. They got into a car accident. The passenger, OUR FRIEND, died. I read witness reports a few months later. Someone who had stopped at the scene wrote (and I quote) "It looked like the top of her head was gone."

My friend is dead and my other is sitting in prison because partying had consumed his life. He did turn his life around, in the year that he was home before going to prison. But now, he is sitting in prison, with a wife and two kids sitting at home.
My friend who died had three children who were left behind without a mother.

So before you go on and on about how cool and badass you are, let me tell you something....You're on a dangerous path. The lifestyle that you are leading will lead to death, prison, and nothing but heartache. I didn't speak to my parents for YEARS because I was so strung out on cocaine. I look at pictures from just 5 years ago and I looked like I was about to die. People that knew me at that time wouldn't even come around me because of what drugs did to my life.

SO HOW DARE YOU COME ON HERE AND TALK ABOUT HOW COOL YOU ARE. And even more, how dare you categorize all teenagers in your little warped world? I hope and pray to God that your parents put you in rehab for a very long time before you are behind bars facing years. Or worse, in a freakin' coffin.

This is the most ignorant thing I have ever read in my whole life.

perhaps your parents are clueless, but just as you are, we were all teens once and just like 50's teens just went to 'lookout point' to talk, and just like 60's-80's kids just tried marajuana socially, MOST of us understand that no one was at lookout point to talk and no one just tried one joint and very few of us only tried marajuana. The problem is, in our days, most of the drugs were dangerous without usually being deadly. Weed didn't make us drive fast or act recklessly......coke, heroin, meth, etc. are far more dangerous and have far more permenant side effects. While we all understand that many of you are doing more than statistics say you are, I think most parents don't understand the life and death consequences or they don't actually believe 'their' child would do anything bad ever.

No need, from the political aspect we'll just build more prisons. They're always looking for a new young teen to come to prison.. it would be like christmas. Love being bad, they'll love ya for it! Have a happy life!!

Not every teen is like that. It's a geographical thing I've noticed. I live in a very poor part of my state (southeastern ohio) and kids here smoke pot and steal their parents prescriptions like it's their jobs. It's because there aren't enough positive activities around here for younger people to do. It's really sad in my opinion.
