My brother is an asthmatic and after ten years his asthma has shown no sign of improving. He has been to several doctors but they didn't help much.

If you want a proven, all-natural way to cure your asthma, without having to pay for useless medications with harmful side-effects, then this is the most important page you'll ever read.

Yes, natural medicine is good for asthma and allergies but you have to identify which is good for asthma and allergy. Frequently, it acts to strengthen the natural immune system that helps the body recover from any disease including asthma and allergy. That way, your body treats the root cause not just the "symptoms". For when the immune system is weak that people get diseases from acute to becoming chronic. So when your immune system is very strong, you'll never get a CHRONIC disease. Also, our bodies are constantly exposed to environmental and food pollutants... That "kind" of natural medicine should also have a good detoxification property so that the health that is being protected by your immune system is not artificial but rather a perfect health.

Yes, I've seen a variety of "natural" approaches work, including for people who have been on medication their whole life, although to be fair, I've never seen anything done for a 4 year old. Asthma is one of those funny conditions that didn't use to exist, but has been a continually growing problem in the western world, now is somewhat of an epidemic, and despite the preceeding facts, most doctors are not aware that environmental factors cause it, and crappy treatments are proposed.

Also, for my 2 cents about the other comments here

"Hi, I have a question about an alternative medicine practice.

Hi, I'm Kalos and my job is to say alternative medicine is bad in every single way imaginable, and that conventional approaches are always infinitely better. Please ignore and forgive me for doing that again because it's what I'm programmed to do."

There is no natural way to cure asthma, nor even to just treat it. You need corticosteroids to use every day to reduce the inflammation in your bronchi. It's also used as an expectorant for mucus. You also need to use a broncho-dilatator when you have a crisis to compensate for the extra-effort. Ask your dentist about solutions, because you can't stop taking your medication.

I think that going to a holistic doctor would be a god idea. Just make sure you don't get some wacky quack who advises you to stop seeing the original doctor. You should go to BOTH.

A holistic doctor can offer advice on vitamins, herbs, foods, etc that can help decrease your daughter's NEED for the medicine. But no holistic doctor in their right mind would ever recommend that you stop using the albuterol. She needs her nebulizer. She needs her steroids. She needs all that stuff. But what can it hurt to make sure that she is getting the proper nutrition? What would it hurt to give her some supplements that might decrease an asthma attack? Make sure that you tell your doctor ALL nutritional and herbal changes you have made. There can be herbs that interfere with the medicine.

So, DO BOTH. I would never recommend that a 4 year old baby stops taking her medicine. That's crazy.

Been asthma and medication free for 8 years as well as my daughter, so yes.

The person answering above never went through years and years of asthma and feeling what its like to feel like an elephant is sitting on your chest. Its not a life taking meds and still ending up in the hospital for breathing treatments and being told you have to live with it the rest of your life with a spiral of antibiotics, post nasal drip, nasacort, albuteral, then steroid inhalers, then hospital visits at 2am because your inhalers stopped working due to walking pneumonia's... It is a horrible thing to live with and its no life.

Yes, there is a natural way to address it because the cause of my disease was addressed, not masking symptoms while I and my daughter got worse.

I kept my inhaler and meds by my side until I was sure I was completely asthma free... So, it was a very responsible decision on my part and my children. I'm no dummy, as I was diagnosed with asthma at the age of 2 before they invented inhalers for people and were still using it to inject in race horses.

I started the holistic help with my daughter at the age of four and her medical pediatrician was all for it as I am a responsible mom and if my pediatrician wasn't all for it, I would get another one who cooperated, because there are holistic practitioners who know what they heck they are doing. They get the bodies own immune system to correct the problem, not just mask symptoms while it continues to get worse.

Continue treatments with your family medical doctor and there is absolutely nothing wrong with you looking outside traditional medicine to compliment her treatments. Visit a naturopath or alternative medicine practitioner yourself and ask questions, see for yourself and don't let such idiotic people on this site that are completely clueless to alternative medicine control the health and well being of your family. They have absolutely nothing good to say about any situation and will bash anything and everything.
