Marriott Renaissance-right downtown-a little fancy but close to the flats and entertainment on West 6th and West 9th. Also walking distance (not short) to the stadium

For food and drinks, W6th (in the Warehouse district) is the best place to go downtown. Other than eating and shopping at Tower City (there is a movie theater in there too), stuff to do in Cleveland isn't so great. The Science Center is fun though and is very close to the Hall of Fame. You can pretty much walk to the places I've mentioned in about 15 (maybe 20) minutes. You could take the RTA train (station is in Tower City) one stop south to Ohio City. There are a few neat places to shop and eat on W. 25th. Make sure to check out the Great Lakes Brewery - good food and beer! Also, you could take the bus (the 55 line, costs $3.50 for an all day pass) to Edgewater Park and go to the beach. Its nothing special, and I wouldn't recommend actually swimming, but its something to do. Have fun! (I forgot to add that I would stay away from the Flats. Its a bit slummy)

The Comfort Inn- Downtown on Euclid is good for the price. The staff is nice and you get free bottled water any time. Also, it's in walking distance (10 mins) of the stadium, and walking distance of some bars. Th Winking Lizard is a cool sports bar that is right down the street from the hotel...among some other places. However, after the game, the Warehouse district is the place to be for nightlife. From the hotel, it's a five minute cab ride.

Do not stay at the Days Inn on Euclid it is dirty. I would recommend that you go to expedia or travelocity and search for hotels by a street address, such as the stadium. The Flats are dead as far as bars go but the Warehouse District is good.
I have stayed in the Crowne Plaza on St. Clair Avenue and loved the hotel and the location. It was walking distance to everywhere I wanted to go.

Try the Residence Inn downtown. A short walk to the stadium and down the street from House of Blues, Paninis, Thirsty Parrot, Hairy Buffalos, and The Bone Yard to name a few. We stay there when we go to watch the Indians (GO TRIBE) and would to watch the Browns if we could score Browns tix on a good weekend for us! LOL!! Give it a shot!!

I agree with Allen, the Marriot is located real close to Browns stadium as well as a lot of bars and other nightlife you say you are looking for. I hope you're rooting for the Browns! Have fun.
